This is important to implement to strengthen loyalty Indonesian people in their country, because of Indonesia's position as an archipelagic country, flanked by two continents and two oceans so that it is a strategic crossing, resulting in the dynamics of global, regional and national environmental development being very dynamic in influencing the pattern, form and escalation of threats to state sovereignty and integrity . territory and the safety of the entire nation.
National Defense is a mental character that every citizen must have in order to always be adaptive and prepared to face every threat and to create a Deterrent Effect for other countries . National Defense is a determination, attitude, behavior and actions of citizens, both individual and collective, to maintain state sovereignty , territorial integrity and the safety of the nation and state imbued with love for the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD Republic of Indonesia in 1945) from threats. National Defense efforts are a basic human obligation and honor for every citizen which is carried out with full awareness, responsibility and willingness to sacrifice in service to the state and nation as mandated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia .
On this basis, Giri Pendawa Vocational School held a Flag Ceremony commemorating the 75th National Defense Day at the local ceremony field with the theme "Waging State Defense for an Advanced Indonesia". Even though it was a semester holiday, teachers, staff and students were still present as a moral responsibility as Indonesians. because National Defense Day (HBN) is a historic day for the Indonesian nation in commemoration of the Declaration of the Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia (PDRI) on 19 December 1948 in West Sumatra, which was later stipulated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia in Presidential Decree Number 28 of 2006. Furthermore, in the Regulation Presidential Number 115 of 2023 concerning Policies for Developing National Defense Awareness, commemoration of National Defense Day is one of the programs of the National Action Plan for National Defense (RANBN) which must be implemented by all Ministries/Institutions, Regional Government, TNI and Polri every year as part of the Development Master Plan Awareness of National Defense for the period 2020 to 2045 said I Komang Sumarta, S.Pd, M.Pd, Head of Giri Pendawa Vocational School in his mandate as supervisor at the flag ceremony which began with reading the President of the Republic of Indonesia's speech to commemorate the 75th National Defense Day.
Furthermore, after telling the long history of the Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia, with fiery enthusiasm, Sumarta motivated all the ceremony participants so that the commemoration of National Defense Day was not just a day of commemoration, but let us together reflect on the struggle of our predecessors' heroes to reclaim it. independence from Dutch henchmen from the motherland of this archipelago. We who are present here as the generation who received independence, let us encourage ourselves by imitating the struggle of our predecessors by working hard, working smart, working thoroughly and sincerely in carrying out our respective duties, kindle the spirit of struggle to fill and defend our country from various AGHT (Threats, Disruptions, Obstacles and Challenges) from various attacks from other countries who want our country not to progress. It is on your shoulders that the future of this country is at stake, today's AGHT still exists but its form is different, for example drug trafficking and illegal drugs are not only in cities but have spread to remote villages, if you are not alert then you will be exposed and your life will be destroyed. , threats and disturbances are not only in the form of goods but also in the form of propaganda and provocations on social media, so be careful playing on social media, if you are not selective then you can fall into and be exposed to heretical teachings, hate speech, slander and various behaviors that are contrary to the norms and culture of the archipelago that we inherited from our ancestors. So once again sir, let us uphold national teachings and implement religious teachings, especially the Tri Basic Framework of Hindu Religion, namely Tattwa, how do we understand and transform science and technology so that we have reliable competence to protect ourselves, then not only knowledge and skills but also Ethics or morality, how we think, speak and behave in a good way, not anarchic, not provocative, not pitting ourselves against each other and not committing other immoral acts. "Finally, Upakara means that after we are able to have good competence and morals, of course our lives will be prosperous, so establish good social relations with fellow brothers, relatives, the environment and nationality, so that we can defend the honor and dignity of our nation and country," he concluded.
